Costco St Michel La Petite Galette Chocolate Chip Cookies Review

There’s a variety of packaged mini cookies to choose from at Costco and thus far my favorite has been the Kirkland Signature Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies. France is famous for their pastries and cookies like eclairs, croissants and macarons and these St Michel La Petite Galette Chocolate Chip Cookies at Costco are made in France. They’re not cheap and they’re made in place known for its world-class baked goods so they must be amazing right? Read below to find out!

Location in Store

I actually found these cookies on an island in the bakery section, not in the packaged snack section. The item number is 1798441.

Taste

The cookies are very crunchy, but surprisingly flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised by the rich, chocolatey flavor when I bit into the cookie. They’re delicious for a packaged cookie like this. If you’re interested in a soft mini cookie you may want to check out the MadeGood Red Velvet Mini Cookies or the Pillsbury Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies.

The chocolate is the main thing that stands out, but the cookies themselves seem to have a rich, buttery flavor too. I know I used the word rich twice, but it really is the main thing that comes to mind when I eat these cookies. They’re excellent.

Cost

These cookies aren’t cheap! The 700 gram box costs $17.99 Canadian and there are 200 cookies in the box.

Convenience

I was shocked when I opened my box and found that each tiny cookie is individually wrapped. That’s a lot of waste/packaging! Especially if you’re like my husband and want to eat 10 of these at a time.

The individual packaging makes them nice for a candy dish or to send to daycare with my toddler for a small sweet treat after lunch but other than that I don’t see the point of it. The best before date on the box is about ten months from when I purchased them. Both kids and adults will enjoy these cookies!

Nutrition

Calories

Nine biscuits contains 150 calories, nine grams of fat, 22 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 10 grams of sugar, two grams of protein and 95 milligrams of sodium. That’s not that many calories, fat or sugar for nine cookies. I wish they’d packaged the cookies in packs of nine instead of individually.

Ingredients

I love that they use pure butter in these cookies but hate to see artificial flavoring. There aren’t any superfood ingredients in these cookies nor are they nutritious but they taste good! The cookies contain wheat, milk, soy and egg and may contain tree nuts and sesame.

Overall

Give it a try!

These cookies are tasty, I do wish the cookies were packaged differently. Having tiny cookies in individual packages seems wasteful. A pack of 10 or something would make a lot more sense to me.
