Absolutely delicious Costco Kirkland Signature Raspberry Lemonade Cake, perfect for Mother’s Day!
Sean and I went to Costco last week and I saw the new Costco Kirkland Signature Raspberry Lemonade Cake and despite being a household of two, I knew we needed one. Not just to review but also for me to indulge in!
I’ve reviewed a ton of Costco cakes on the blog, check-out the reviews for the Kirkland Signature Tuxedo Cake, Tiramisu Cake, Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Celebration Cake and the Red Velvet Cheesecake.
This cake can be found in the refrigerated bakery section near all the cakes the item number is 1421434.
Taste
This cake is wonderful, I really enjoyed it. Firstly, let’s discuss what the cake is made of, it’s a soft, fluffy and light white cake with layers of a sweet, slightly tart, flavorful lemon raspberry filling. On top is a delicious, creamy real whipped cream icing. The sides of the cake has a sweet cookie crumble which is probably my favorite part of the entire cake!
This is one of my favorite Costco cakes I’ve tried, it’s light, not overly sweet, extremely flavorful and the lemon-raspberry filling is not at all artificial or cheap tasting. I totally appreciate that Costco uses real whipped cream that’s not fake tasting or super sweet.
Cost
I paid $19.99 Canadian for the cake which is not bad considering it supposedly can serve up to 16 people or if you’re a cake lover like Sean and I are you’ll get about 8 sevings out of one cake. Honestly, this is a good deal, cakes from a local bakery cost $40 or more and this tastes comparable.
Convenience
Luckily for us the cake freezes perfectly! This would be absolutely perfect for Mother’s Day or a birthday. The best before date on the cake is five days from the date the cake was packaged on.
Nutrition
Skip this part if you want to have your cake and enjoy it too! 1/16th of the cake is 240 calories, 13 grams of fat, 18 grams of sugar, 27 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, two grams of protein and 170 mg of sodium. There’s obviously a lot of not so healthy ingredients in cake from the grocery store.
Yes, I would totally buy this cake again! It’s delicious and I definitely recommend picking it up while it’s around because if you know Costco you know products you see often disappear by your next trip!.

Personally this is my favourite Costco Cake, but now they call it a Raspberry Lemon cake. Not lemonade. What I noticed when I was eating this cake was that they removed the crumble part, and from taste and texture I can tell the cream is made out of plant-based ingredients.
The lemon filling, in my opinion, is much more sweet and creamy than the raspberry filling. It’s a very high contrast in flavour so watch out for that! And Costco doesn’t cut the crusts off their layers of cake which personally I enjoy, but keep that in mind if you don’t like crusts. I would definitely recommend this cake for any occasion, and it’s not very sugary – I know some low-sugar-tolerance people who tried this dessert and they thought it was perfect!
P.S: Due to inflation, the price has now risen to approximately twenty-two dollars.
Thanks for updating us on the price Jenny!
I love this cake, but I can’t find it anymore at the local Costco. Seems to have disappeared. Oh bother.
Usually is out around Mother’s Day.

The cake is really nice. We tried it recently. However, I don’t see why you called it “real whipped cream icing”, the ingredient list does not support that description.
You were soooo right! Bought the cake for Mother’s Day after reading your review. It was perfect.
Yay! I’m glad you also enjoyed it!
