Costco O’Sole Mio Ravioli with Boursin Review

Boursin is a brand of Gournay cheese that comes in a variety of flavors boasting a creamy, soft, spreadable texture. If you make ravioli from scratch you could surely use Boursin as a filling but O’Sole Mio has created a convenient option with their ready-to-boil fresh ravioli filled with the delightful combination of Boursin and ricotta. Knowing Costco, this product is unlikely to last long, so should you hurry to grab some?

Location in Store

The ravioli is located in the refrigerated deli section of Costco near all the other refrigerated pastas like the Rana Maine Lobster Ravioli. The item number is 1768676.

Taste

I really like this ravioli, the filling definitely tastes like Boursin cheese. If you haven’t had Boursin it’s a smooth, creamy cheese with a strong herb and garlic flavor. The texture is similar to a cream cheese but thicker. The Boursin combined with the ricotta is really nice.

The pasta itself tastes fine but overall this is a really pasta heavy dish, there really isn’t much filling and the filling that’s present easily falls out when you cut into the ravioli. I used a plain butter sauce and I think a tomato sauce would overpower the subtle flavor of the cheese filling.

Cost

There are two 400 gram packages of ravioli and the pack costs $14.99 Canadian. One 400 gram pack of ravioli is not enough to feed four people and it would only feed three people a small portion. I think a family of four would need both packs cooked for dinner.

Convenience

The ravioli is really easy to cook, you just boil it for four minutes and it’s ready to eat! You could serve this with a tomato sauce or alfredo sauce but I had it with a plain butter sauce and thought it was really good. The best before date on the ravioli is about a month from when we purchased it.

Give it a try!

If you’re a Boursin fan, you’ll likely really enjoy this. Costco tends to carry things only for a short period of time so if this looks good to you, pick some up!
