Location in Store

These are located in the freezer aisle at Costco near all the other appetizers like the Kirkland Signature Garlic Butter Shrimp and the Hampton House Dry Garlic Ribs. The item number is 2446513.

Taste

These remind me a lot of a jalapeno popper because of the cream cheese filling but they’re obviously different. They’re very simple but really tasty! I baked them in the oven and the outside got nice and golden brown as well as crispy. They’re essentially like a dollop of spinach & artichoke dip that’s breaded.

The spinach & artichoke filling is noticeably cream cheese based and has a bit of tanginess. You can’t really taste the spinach on it’s own or the artichokes and it has a bit of a cheesy flavor.

Overall the spinach artichoke dip is really tasty and the breading is nice and crispy and flavorful. They’re pretty addictive and once you have one you want a lot more.

Cost

The box comes with two trays of bites, each tray contains 24 spinach & artichoke bites. They’re not totally overpriced in my opinion but not super cheap either considering they’re just breaded dip.

Convenience

I baked the bites in the oven and they turned out golden brown and crispy. The instructions recommend cooking them in the oven for 16 to 18 minutes, I baked them for 17 minutes and found a few of my bites exploded a bit.

They need to be kept frozen and the best before date is about 16 months from when I purchased them. These work well as an appetizer, potluck food, party food or snack. The bites are a product of Canada.

Nutrition

Calories

Five spinach & artichoke bites contain 270 calories, 18 grams of fat, 20 grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, three grams of sugar, seven grams of protein, 520 milligrams. That’s not bad for five of these bites, I had two and was feeling pretty satisfied from just two. The sodium isn’t astronomical for five and there’s at least a bit of protein!

Ingredients

The ingredients list has the ingredients you’d expect to see like cream cheese, spinach, artichoke and breading. There are also a bunch of ingredients I don’t love seeing but are pretty typical like canola oil, modified palm oil and sugar. The spinach & artichoke bites contain milk, soy, wheat and egg.
