Healthy, flavorful, delicious and convenient frozen quinoa from Costco!
Despite all the sweets & treats I review, my husband and I do try to eat healthy most of the time. When Norquin offered to send me a sample of their new frozen quinoa & kale I was really excited to try it because that’s the kind of product from Costco I would buy to eat on a regular basis.
We eat a lot of quinoa, I love the Kirkland Signature Quinoa Salad from Costco and I also make a recipe using ground turkey for a Mexican-style quinoa casserole.
This can be found in the freezer section at Costco and the item number is 3394008.
Taste
I know I got a free sample of this but I have to say, I truly love, love, loved it. It’s very simple, flavorful and delicious. It’s a mixture of white quinoa and red quinoa with kale, salt, pepper, olive oil and garlic.
I microwaved the bag of quinoa and it turned out really nice, hot, not at all mushy and seasoned well, a bit salty with a hint of garlic. I absolutely love that they use extra virgin olive oil and you get a slight hint of olive oil in each bite. You can’t really taste the kale but it adds a lovely green color!
This Norquin Frozen Quinoa & Kale from Costco isn’t full of ton of ingredients and it tastes that way, simple, wholesome, flavorful and light.
Cost
A 1.4 kg bag of Norquin Quinoa & Kale costs $11.99 Canadian. You get four smaller microwaveable bags in the large bag for that cost.
Convenience
You can choose to microwave the quinoa or cook it on the stovetop. I chose to microwave it and highly recommend using that method as it was super simple and tasted great.
The best before date is over a year from the date I received the quinoa. You could use this in a variety of ways, as a side dish, to make a quinoa salad or you could even us it as a main with extra veggies and some protein mixed in.

The Norquin frozen quinoa from Costco honestly has one of my favorite ingredients lists I’ve ever seen on a Costco product. Short and simple with nutritious ingredients. Quinoa is gluten-free and high in protein. Kale has lots of Vitamin A and is also a good source of folate.

Has anyone figured out how to buy this product. I miss it so much and Costco doesn’t sell it. we should all leave a comment for Costco to bring it back
Can you please bring this product back
I know! I enjoyed it too!
I too love this product. I don’t see it at Costco anymore. Does anyone know another retailer in Calgary that offers this product or anything like it? Thanks.
This is a really great product. Thank you so much for bringing it to our attention. The quinoa has a slight bitter taste, but the texture is on point. I like to turn it into a pilaf. I sauté onions, garlic, carrots, celery, bell pepper, zucchini, frozen corn and frozen peas. I add a bit of dried herbs to the mix including oregano, thyme, basil and Italian seasoning as well as lots of salt and pepper. As the vegetables are finishing cooking, I pop the quinoa in the microwave and then add it to the sautéed vegetables. The sweetness of the vegetables really helps overcome the slight bitterness in the quinoa. To make it into a complete meal, we will add pre-cooked chicken or ham. Really makes a nice meal.
Do not Sell this at my Costco anymore! How can I buy this product I bought it in the past and I love it! Please get back to me!!
Hi Teresa! You could try contacting Norquin online and ask them where you can buy it.
