Costco carries a few pre-made meals that are ready to eat right out of the package like these Kirkland Signature Southwest Chicken Wraps with Sauce. Although these wraps are the epitome of convenience the price seems a little steep at $6.99 per pound. Are they worth picking up for your next easy lunch or dinner?
Costco carries so many delicious pre-made meals like the Kirkland Signature Chicken Sandwich with Sauce, Kirkland Signature Quiche Lorraine, Kirkland Signature Yakisoba Stir Fry, Kirkland Signature Chicken Quesadillas, Kirkland Signature Enchilada Bake, Kirkland Signature Chicken Tacos and the Kirkland Signature Gyro Kit.
Location in Store
We bought this for lunch while in Kona, Hawaii. It can be found in the refrigerated pre-made meal section and the item number is 29433.
Taste
The wraps are sort of like cold chicken burritos but they’re way better than the Realgood Foods Chicken & Pepper Jack Cheese Burritos from Costco. They have plenty of chicken and cheese and a mild amount of heat. Honestly the sauce probably isn’t needed as they’re not dry at all. The chicken, cheese mixture and black beans are plenty moist.
There are enough vegetables to add flavor and texture. I enjoyed the tortillas. They’re chewy and hold the wraps together well without being overly thick/bready. The sauce is good. It’s tangy and adds some extra heat. It goes really well with the wraps.
Unfortunately the chicken isn’t perfect. I found a few gristly bites in the half wrap I ate.
Cost
The cost of the wraps and sauce is $6.99 per pound so you’re paying based on the weight of the tray you buy. Our tray cost $17.68 USD. There are four large wraps in the container so you’re paying just over four dollars per wrap, which isn’t super expensive but not that cheap either.
Convenience
The wraps need to be kept refrigerated and the best before date is three days from the date they were packaged on. I recommend eating them as soon as possible because they will get a bit soggy if they’re left to the last day. We ate two on the day before the expiry date though and they still tasted nice.
These are perfect for lunch or dinner on a picnic, on the beach, at the pool or just at home! They’d also be convenient to bring to work or school for lunch.
Nutrition
Calories
A 284 gram serving or about one wrap contains 620 calories, 35 grams of fat, 1560 milligrams of sodium, 50 grams of carbohydrates, four grams of fiber, six grams of sugar and 27 grams of protein. That’s a ton of sodium but I expected it to be high. The calories, fat, carbs and protein and about what I expected them to be.
Ingredients
The ingredients list is quite long with a lot of unhealthy ingredients like sugar, dextrose, soybean oil, corn syrup, carrageenan and food coloring. Food coloring, really?! Why?!
The wraps contain wheat, milk, egg and may contain soy, peanuts, treenuts, fish, shellfish, crustaceans and sesame.

Overall
Give it a try!
These are actually pretty tasty, I don’t think they need the sauce because they’re already flavorful enough. I recommend them if you need a quick lunch or dinner that you don’t need to cook!

Wow, I lost track. Is that about 100 ingredients?
Me too. It’s mind boggling! I’m surprised it got as high as a 3/10 on the nutrition score with that huge amount of sodium.
