Two things I love are raspberries and Greek yogurt and I eat them together all the time! When I saw this new Kirkland Signature Raspberry Greek Yogurt Coffee Cake, I absolutely had to try it. I expected a sweet cake loaded with luscious raspberries and a hint of yogurt flavor but my expectations sadly weren’t met.
Costco carries a new flavor of coffee cake every few months. So far I’ve tried the peaches and cream, maple pecan and orange pecan. All of the flavors I’ve tried so far have been pretty tasty so I was happy to buy and try this raspberry Greek yogurt version.
Location in Store
The coffee cake can be found in the bakery section at Costco and the item number is 1761252.
Taste
When I cut my first piece of the cake, I was a bit surprised by the lack of visible raspberries. It didn’t seem like there are many in the cake. Somehow there seemed to be a fair number of seeds in the cake though – I noticed them almost more than the raspberry flavor!
The flavor of the Greek yogurt comes through pretty consistently; there’s an underlying tanginess to the cake. Some bites have a fairly noticeable flavor and sweetness from the raspberries while some taste like you’re just eating Greek yogurt cake. The streusel on top adds some sweetness and texture too.
I ate my cake the day after I bought it and it was ever so slightly dry. I expected it to be a bit more moist. It was fine, but I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much four days later on the best before date unless it was frozen in between.
I enjoyed the flavors in this cake. The few bites I had with lots of raspberry in them were especially good, so it’s a shame Costco didn’t put more of them in the cake.
Cost
The price is really reasonable, only $9.99 Canadian and the cake is pretty large! It could easily serve 10 people or more.
Convenience
The coffee cake has a best before date that’s five days from the best before date. If you aren’t going to finish the cake prior to the best before date you can easily freeze it. The cake works well for breakfast, brunch, a snack or dessert.
It doesn’t just go well with coffee or tea! You can also enjoy it with some vanilla ice cream or yogurt.

Calories
1/18th of the cake contains 180 calories, eight grams of fat, 27 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 17 grams of sugar, three grams of protein and 250 milligrams of sodium.
Ingredients
The ingredients list isn’t horrifically long, which I appreciate but that doesn’t mean it’s healthy. It has a bunch of unhealthy ingredients like sugar, artificial flavours, canola oil and palm kernel oil. At least it does have actual raspberries as an ingredient!
The cake contains milk, egg, soy and wheat and may contain tree nuts, peanut, sesame and sulfites.

Overall
Give it a try!
Since the coffee cake is so large I gave some to my parents and they really enjoyed it! It’s a simple, sweet, moist cake.
