Costco Kirkland Signature Keto Snack Mix Review

This Kirkland Signature Keto Snack Mix from Costco is a nut mixture with a twist – you get dried cheese bites along with pecans, hazelnuts, brazil nuts and macadamia nuts. Honestly, that didn’t sound like a particularly appealing combination to me, but I know keto dieters are always looking for good snacks, so I thought I’d give this mix a try. Do the cheese bites work with the nuts, or would it have been better if they’d just been left out?

Some other keto-friendly products Costco carries are the innofoods Keto Coconut Clusters, Carbonaut Bagels, Ozery Seedwise Keto Clusters, Orowheat Keto Tortillas, Kirkland Signature Smoked Pulled Pork, Kirkland Signature Organic Chicken Bone Broth, Kirkland Signature Beef Pot Roast, Franz Keto Bread, Kerrygold Dubliner Cheese and the innofoods Keto Granola.

Location in Store

I found this in the snack section and bought this at the Kalispell, Montana Costco. The item number is 1557807.

Taste

I like nuts so I thought I’d enjoy this mix but nope, I don’t like it at all. The cheese bites don’t pair well at all with the nuts and it’s just not a good flavor combination or taste.

Pecans, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, brazil nuts, pecans and cheese bites.

The nuts are just salted, there isn’t any extra seasoning and the cheese balls aren’t as good as I expected. The cheese balls aren’t very crispy or light. Instead, they’re pretty hard and crunchy and they just don’t pair that well with the nuts. The flavor combination tastes really odd. It might be the type of nuts or the just that the cheese balls aren’t good.

The cheese bites don’t pair well with the nuts in my opinion.

If you’re on a keto diet this is probably a convenient snack but you have to like nuts because it’s basically just salted nuts combined with little not very tasty cheese balls. The nuts are all pretty large, for example the pecans in the bag are massive. There aren’t cheap nuts like peanuts and cashews in the bag.

Cost

The one pound eight-ounce bag of mix costs $12.99 USD which actually isn’t that expensive in my opinion considering this mix is full of pricey nuts and it’s marketed as keto.

Convenience

The best-before date listed on the bag is about eight months from the date it was purchased. The bag reseals which helps keep the mix fresh. I haven’t seen a ton of nut mixes with this combination of pecans, hazelnuts, brazil nuts and macadamia nuts. So if you like fancy these particular nuts, you’d probably enjoy this mix (minus the cheese balls).

If you’re on a keto diet, this is an easy, filling high fat and low-carb snack.

Nutrition

Calories

A 1/4 cup serving contains 190 calories, 19 grams of fat, 90 milligrams of sodium, three grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fiber, one gram of sugar and five grams of protein. Keep in mind, a quarter of a cup is basically a small handful! It would be really easy to consume quite a few calories of mix! At least it’s full of healthy fats!

Ingredients

The ingredients list is short and sweet which I love! I also really appreciate that they use avocado oil on the pecans instead of canola, palm or peanut oil.

The mix contains milk and nuts like pecans, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts and macadamia nuts. There is no mention of gluten or peanuts/other tree nuts.

Overall

Give it a try!

If you’re on a strict keto diet and love nuts, you might like this. Personally, I’d rather buy just a bag of nuts and the Whisps Cheese Crisps.
