Costco frozen cheese pizza is lacking in flavor but works well as a base pizza!
I could eat pizza every week no problem. It’s one of my favorite foods. Usually I prefer restaurant/take-out pizza over frozen pizza but today I’m reviewing the Costco Kirkland Signature Cheese Pizza.
I’ve reviewed quite a few kinds of pizza from Costco, the Costco Sabtasso’s Pizza Singles, the Costco Kirkland Signature Pepperoni Pizza, Costco Molinaro’s Gluten-Free Roasted Vegetable Pizza, Sabatasso’s Gluten-Free Four Cheese Pizza and the Costco Pizza Delight Garlic Cheese Fingers.

You can find the Costco Kirkland Signature Cheese Pizza in the freezer aisle at Costco. Near the other frozen pizzas. The item number is 1008499.
Taste
There’s not a ton of cheese on the pizza for it being a cheese pizza. The sauce has a bit of sweetness to it that’s delicious and flavorful, the sauce is a pretty standard tomato sauce. The bottom and edge of the crust got nice and crisp. Overall the crust was chewy and soft and has a flavor that reminds me of a biscuit mix.
This is a good base pizza or a pizza for kids who like cheese pizza. It’s not extremely flavorful so I would add my own additional toppings, It definitely needs more cheese. I think adding some vegetables, leftover charcuterie meat or other meats and extra cheese will boost the flavor.
Cost
I purchased the four-pack of Costco Kirkland Signature Frozen Cheese Pizza for $12.99 Canadian. Not bad at all considering there are four pizzas in the box!
Convenience
The box contains four individually wrapped cheese pizzas. Each pizza has a cooking instructions label on it which is nice because you don’t need to keep the box. Cook the pizza from frozen at 450 degrees Fahrenheit directly on the middle oven rack for 10 to 12 minutes.
The best before date on the pizza we bought is about five months from the date we purchased it. These Costco frozen pizzas make a quick and convenient dinner and I think kids will love them!

One-third of a Costco cheese pizza is 390 calories, 12 grams of fat, 52 grams of carbohydrates, 770 mg of sodium, three grams of fibre, 12 grams of sugar and 19 grams of protein! That’s a decent amount of protein. I could easily eat more than one-third though of the pizza though, probably more like half.
Ingredients
The ingredients list actually isn’t too shocking. I like that there’s olive oil in the sauce and appreciate that there’s not a ton of chemical-sounding ingredients listed.

Please do an update since Kirkland changed it last month made it “New and Improved” which means bio engineered food and cheaper ingredients ,thanks. dan
Our family loves these pizzas! They are WAY better than the pizzas you get in the Costco deli/prepped meals section AND you get way more pizza for your money. Definitely recommend them, esp for families with kids and/or picky eaters!
These are awful. They’re incredibly sweet, not like the Costco fresh baked pizzas at all. Never buy these again.
I think these are awful. I added ingredients, meat, veggies etc and still do not like them. The cheese seems sub par. Will not buy again ever.
I live in Korea, where measurements are metric. I found the correct Celsius temperature; but I forgot to compensate for our convection oven! I ended up baking the pizza a bit too hot. I rescued it a little over halfway through the normal time, before irreparable damage had been done (the edges were quite toasty and the middle wasn’t exactly done). It was still pretty good, with my added olives, mushrooms, crushed red pepper, and grated parmesan.
By the way, I cook these in the microwave oven and they turn out great: crust is nice and soft with no burnt spots.
The trick to improve flavor: sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese generously. Delicious! (Beware: sodium content will go through the roof.)
