I love ice cream, I have to admit though, I’m a bit of an ice cream snob. I tend to like the fancier, more expensive ice creams – Häagen-Dazs is probably my favorite. I’m telling you this so that you know it means something when I say these Helados Mexico Ice Cream Bars (also called Cream Paletas) from Costco are amazing! You might be wondering if there’s anything special about them that makes them different from regular ice cream bars and why they’re so great – read on to find out.
Other frozen treats from Costco are the Melona Frozen Dessert Bars, Tru Fru Frozen Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Shamoei Boba Lovers’ Treats Frozen Bars, Shaomei Brown Sugar Boba Bars, Kirkland Signature Vanilla Almond Ice Cream Bars, Nestle Kit Kat Ice Cream Bars, So Delicious Dairy-Free Salted Caramel Frozen Dessert Bars, Traditions Organic Fudge Bars and the Yasso Greek Yogurt Bars.
Location in Store
These are located in the freezer aisle at Costco, near all the other frozen bars and ice cream. The item number is 1725540.
Taste
The box comes with three flavors and I wrote notes as I tasted each one.
Strawberry – Great strawberry ice cream. It’s not too sweet and extremely creamy. It actually reminds me a lot of Häagen-Dazs strawberry ice cream.
Mango – Awesome mango flavor. Again, it reminds me of the mango ice cream in the Häagen-Dazs mango raspberry ice cream.
Coconut – The coconut bars seem extra creamy and have a fantastic coconut flavor. They’re pretty decadent and rich.
All three flavors are rich and delicious. These are quality ice cream bars. The flavors are strong without being overly sweet or artificial-tasting.
I don’t have a lot to say about these ice cream bars other than they’re great. If you like these flavors, you should buy them. I can’t even choose a favorite out of the three. They’re on the same level as premium ice creams like Häagen-Dazs.
Cost
The box contains 30 bars, 10 of each flavor and costs $13.99 USD. This is actually an amazing price for so many bars that taste this good.
Convenience
The bars need to be kept frozen and the best-before date is about 22 months from when I purchased them.
Each bar is individually wrapped. I think kids and adults will both really love these. They’d be perfect for a barbecue, summer potluck or party or just to have around home as a cool treat to enjoy on a hot day!
Nutrition
Calories
The nutrition facts are a bit different depending on the flavor. The calories, fat and sugar per bar don’t surprise me, these taste very decadent and aren’t super small.
The strawberry flavor contains 150 calories, seven grams of fat, 45 milligrams of sodium, 20 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fiber, 19 grams of sugar and three grams of protein.
The coconut flavor contains 170 calories, nine grams of fat, 55 milligrams of sodium, 20 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fiber, 19 grams of sugar and three grams of protein.
Mango contains 140 calories, seven grams of fat, 45 milligrams of sodium, 18 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fiber, 17 grams of sugar and three grams of protein.
Ingredients
I like that the ingredients are simple with cream, cane sugar and real fruit being the main ingredients. If you have an egg allergy you’ll have to steer clear of these as they contain egg yolk. Although the ingredients are straightforward, it doesn’t make these healthy.

FYI, if Costco is out of these Walmart stocks them year round but in smaller boxes.
I’m like everyone else here: These are the most incredible things ever. I discovered them at Costco a couple of months ago. Now in February 2024, they no longer carry them. Why? Why would they do that? They were such a good price too. I am spoiled now, all other ice cream seems drab. Even the pricey upscale brands don’t compare. PS I’m glad to have discovered your web site.
I have been disappointed by the recent change in the strawberry ice cream. Wondering why the change. It isn’t as creamy as usual. I would look forward to my daily break with the strawberry ice cream. But I no longer enjoy them. They aren’t the same. Why the change?
Costco in Sugar Land, Texas, needs to stock this ice cream bars all year round, instead of seasonally.
Oh my goodness, I absolutely love these ice cream bars. I can definitely compare them to Hagen daz, and price is incredible! ENJOY
So good! Mouthwatering, greatest thing ever tasted. Must have. Bought 60 the other say, scratched a million off my checklist 3 years ago. Add 2 0s to the 1s helado is in a different mode. Mango>Coconut>Strawberry frfr
I really enjoy all your thoughtful reviews, including this one. Next I’m going on Instacart and ordering a box to be delivered today!
Hope you love them!
Gonna pick up some of these on my next trip if my warehouse carries them, before summer is gone. They sound delectable.
