Costco Hampton Farms Honey Roasted Peanuts Review

Honey roasted peanuts are a simple yet satisfying snack that blends the rich, nutty flavor of peanuts with the sweetness of honey and a hint of salt. While I wouldn’t say they’re my go-to snack or that I particularly crave them, something about the Hampton Farms Honey Roasted Peanuts from Costco caught my attention and they certainly didn’t disappoint!

Location in Store

These peanuts are located in the snack section at Costco, near the Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter Pretzels and the Kirkland Signature Premium Quality Whole Mixed Nuts. The item number is 1876092.

Taste

If you like sweet, you’ll really like these. They’re very sweet and crunchy. At first all you taste is the sweetness/sugar but as you chew, more of the peanut flavor comes out. These taste nice and fresh and are also pretty large peanuts.

In my opinion, they’re more sweet than salty but there’s a hint of salty flavor that also comes through. Not only are the peanuts candied in honey/sugar, but they also have sugar sprinkled on top. They’re really simple but very addictive, once you start eating them it’s hard to stop.

Cost

The 1.13-kilogram bag costs $10.99 Canadian which seems reasonable. That’s a lot of peanuts for someone to eat!

Convenience

The bag reseals which helps keeps the peanuts fresh and the best before date is… These are a great afternoon or pre-dinner snack although I warn you they’re pretty addictive! The peanuts are great on their own but I think they would also be amazing in a nuts-and-bolts recipe!

Nutrition

Calories

A half cup serving of honey roasted peanuts contains 290 calories, 19 grams of fat, 18 grams of carbohydrates, three grams of fibre, 11 grams of sugar and 10 grams of protein. That’s less sugar and more protein than I expected. Peanuts are definitely naturally high in calories and fat though!

The ingredients list is pretty short with peanuts and sugar being the main ingredients. The peanuts also have peanut oil, potato starch, salt and xanthan gum in them. They may contain tree nuts, wheat, soy, mustard, milk and egg.
