Costco Ethical Bean Coffee is an organic, fair trade, rich and smooth coffee from Costco!
I’m reviewing the Costco Ethical Bean Lush Medium Dark Roast Coffee today! I haven’t done too many Costco coffee reviews but I’m a huge fan of coffee and drink it daily so I’d like to do more Costco coffee reviews in the future. As I write this review, I’m enjoying my morning coffee!
If you’re looking for cold brew coffee at Costco you may want to try the Costco Kirkland Signature Colombian Cold Brew. I love the Costco Kirkland Signature House Blend Medium Roast and the Costco Starbucks seasonal Winter Blend Coffee is also pretty good but only available during the winter season.
This can be found in Costco aisle with all of the other coffee beans!
Taste
I liked this Arabica coffee! It’s extremely smooth, rich, is well balanced and not too acidic tasting. The Ethical Bean Lush Medium Dark Roast is bold, full of body and easy to drink.
The flavors I could taste when drinking this coffee are chocolate, fruit, smokiness and a hint of nutty.
Cost
I paid $16.99 Canadian for the 907 gram bag of coffee beans, I have seen the beans on sale for $3.50 off so keep your eyes peeled for a deal!
Convenience
The beans come whole so you do need to grind them before you make your coffee. I like the smell of fresh ground coffee and don’t mind making my coffee every morning but making coffee from whole beans is definitely not as convenient as a Keurig or Nespresso coffee.
The best before date on the beans is about 10 months from the date I purchased the beans. The Costco Ethical Coffee Bean Lush Medium Dark Roast bag has a pull-tab opening and a zip lock seal to keep your beans nice and fresh.
Nutrition
What are the health benefits of coffee? Coffee can help increase your energy, improve your concentration and may reduce the risks of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease!
What might make coffee unhealthy for some individuals? Some people are very sensitive to caffeine, coffee can disrupt sleep, cause increased anxiety, a jittery feeling or heartburn. If you experience any of these effects but love coffee like I do try drinking less coffee and avoid it later in the day or switch to decaf!
If you drink coffee black there’s very few calories (like two calories in a cup), if you add cream and sugar you’re looking at more calories, fat and sugar.
