When I saw the Costco Dempster 100% Corn Tortillas at Costco I was pleasantly surprised! I love corn tortillas and was excited to see Costco carrying them for a reasonable price.
Taste
These tortillas are PERFECT for tacos or wraps. They’re thick enough to hold an abundance of ingredients. They’re soft and not overly dense or chewy and tasted quite fresh. They’re not sweet and not overly salty which allows whatever fillings or toppings you use to be the main star of the dish. I made fish tacos using the Costco Kirkland Signature Mahi Mahi and the corn tortillas complimented the Mahi Mahi and mango salsa I used beautifully. The size also makes these perfect for a quick snack or small lunch.
Cost
16 tortillas cost only $3.99 Canadian which is a great price! I believe these tortillas would cost much more at my local grocery store.
Convenience
These are very convenient! You can use them to make quesadillas, wraps, tacos or even make your own tortilla chips out of them. The bag reseals (which I love) and the the tortillas also freeze really well. I like to heat them in the oven just for about a minute to make them nice and warm before I had my toppings or filling.
Nutrition
Two tortillas is 120 calories, 85 mg of sodium one gram of fat, 25 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of sugar, three grams of protein and two grams of fibre. These are low in calories, fat and sugar as well as sodium. The ingredients list isn’t extremely long but there’s definitely a chemical additive or two on the list.
The Costco Dempsters 100% Corn Tortillas are reasonably priced, tasty and super convenient.
