Over the past couples of decades there’s been an increased popularity in avocado, likely due to their health benefits! Now, Costco is offering Crunchmaster Avocado Toast Salt & Pepper Crackers, made with avocado oil, avocado powder, and even a touch of spinach powder. These gluten-free and vegan snacks seem like an ideal choice for anyone looking to enjoy a tasty treat without compromising on health.
Location in Store
These are located in the aisle with all the others crackers at Costco like the Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers and the Mary’s Organic Crackers. The item number is 1691567.
Taste
The crackers are definitely well seasoned, thick and really crunchy. They’re a rice cracker so if you’ve had rice crackers before, you’ll know that they’re crunchy. They’ve got a really nice flavor, you can noticeably taste garlic, onion, spinach and black pepper.
I don’t get a distinct avocado flavor though. The main flavor that stands out is the black pepper and garlic. These crackers are pretty strongly flavored and quite savory so they might not be super versatile for pairing with all different kinds of dips and cheeses but they would pair well with hummus and your basic cheddar/mozzarella!
Cost
The 454 gram box comes with two bags of crackers and costs $13.99 Canadian which isn’t outrageously expensive but also isn’t as cheap as some other crackers. I think you’re definitely paying for the fact these are gluten-free, vegan and have the word “avocado” in the name.
Convenience
The box comes with two bags of crackers and the bags do not reseal so once I opened the bag I stored it in a Ziplock bag. The best before date on the crackers is about nine months from when I purchased them.
The crackers are really flavorful and salty so you don’t necessarily need to pair them with anything, they’re fine on their own. You could definitely serve them with cheese, hummus or bruschetta.
Nutrition
Calories
12 crackers contains 130 calories, two and a half grams of fat, 24 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, one gram of sugar, two grams of protein and 170 milligrams of sodium. I expected there to be a lot more sodium based on how salty they taste! 130 calories and only two and a half grams of fat is not bad at all for 12 crackers.
Ingredients
There aren’t a lot of ingredients listed to complain about. I love that they use avocado oil and healthy ingredients list flax, millet, sesame seeds and spinach powder. What I don’t like is the “natural flavour” but that’s not a huge deal. The crackers are gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free.

Overall
Give it a try!
I definitely like these crackers but they’re not going to be my next favorite every day cracker. I prefer the Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers over these.
