Are you interested in a fruity, fizzy beverage that’s more like a pop than a juice? Costco Blue Monkey Sparkling Juice Drinks come in four tropical flavors that are perfect for the summer. These fruit drinks are comparable to a soft drink in calories and sugar, so they have to deliver in the taste department to justify that!
Today I’m reviewing the Costco Blue Monkey Sparkling Juice Drink. I found these at Costco during a recent trip and thought they looked so good!
Other Costco beverages I’ve reviewed are the Costco Boba Bam Instant Boba Pack, Costco Kirkland Signature Lemonade, Costco Sambazon Acai Superfood Drink, Costco Kirkland Signature Organic Juice Boxes and the Costco Milkadamia Macadamia Beverage.

Taste
There’s four flavors of drinks, mango, passionfruit, guava and watermelon. The mango is quite sweet and is lacking in a really have a strong natural mango flavor, it just tastes like really sweet juice. Passionfruit has a nice passionfruit flavor that’s pretty mild. It’s also fairly sweet.
The guava is just okay, it tastes like a guava candy and has has a slight medicine-like flavor which I can’t decide if I like or not. Watermelon is very sweet but with serious artificial watermelon flavor. It’s too sweet in my opinion but tastes exactly like you’re eating a watermelon jolly rancher.
All the drinks are very sweet and fizzy but still tasty. I think I might use them as a cocktail mix and tone down the sweetness by adding additional sparkling water to dilute the Blue Monkey sweetness.
Cost
The cost is $16.99 Canadian at Costco. That’s for a case of 16 drinks, four of each flavor.
Convenience
The best before date is about fourteen months from the date we purchased the drinks and they’re a product of Vietnam. I think kids would really like these! I also think it’s a fun idea to get creative with the Blue Monkey Sparkling Juice Drink and use them as a cocktail mix.
If you serve the drinks chilled or with ice it cuts down on the sweetness a lot so I recommend doing that.

Calories
The calories, sodium, carbohydrates and sugar vary depending on the flavor. Mango and guava are the highest in sugar and calories. There are no added sugars despite them tasting so sweet!
Ingredients
There isn’t any added sugar which I find so pleasantly surprising, they’re made from whole fruit and are Non GMO. The ingredients list is short and simple, they’re basically juice and carbonated water as well as added Vitamin C.

I think kids would enjoy these as a summer treat and I’m going to use them as a cocktail mix this summer! They’re tropical and fruity, but very sweet!

These sparkling juices are so delicious!
We got the lychee juice drink from Costco and it tastes good. There is a caution statement on the can: Not recommended for those under 14 years old. The ingredients are quite simple. Wonder why they put that caution statement on.

I believe it’s the natural flavours which can be upwards of 90 different chemicals
It’s because of the added vitamin C. Anything above a certain amount of mgs has to carry a “supplemented” label with a warning. It’s the same with products that have a certain amount of caffeine, or other added vitamins and minerals.
Questionably sweet. It appears they added artificial sweetners…
Blue Monkey was bought at a Costco on a whim. What a great product!!!! VERY disappointed that they aren’t carried in the store anymore. Please bring these back for sale!
Although they taste great, I feel that it is unlikely that they aren’t adding any additional sugar into the drink, especially the watermelon one. They all just taste too unnaturally sweet. Moderation is key folks. I’ll have to admit that they do taste pretty damn good
Blue Monkey has become our go to favourite down time beverage!
My fave is the watermelon but the other 3 fruit flavours are big hits with wife & son.
I was buying Blue Monkey from Costco then it disappeared! I have been searching for this absolutely AMAZING drink since last summer. Please put this back in the SoCal stores!
I also buy my sparkling beverages from Costco. I’m extremely fond of IZZYS ALL NATURAL SPARKLING JUICE. They like soda are sweet and have lots of great flavor,
but Izzys are 100% all natural made from friut juice.
When I came across the BLUEMONKEY SPARKLING BEVERAGES, I FOUND MYSELF SMILING & WISPERING THE WORD MONKEY OUT LOUD?!…So I purchased a box,hesitant because they cost a tad more, but I was literally WOWED!! Worth
Every penny!! I never found one natural flavored water with watermelon real or artificial that you can actually taste the fruit flavor enough, BLUEMONKEY DELIVERS IN FLAVOR &bFIZZY, 5☆☆☆☆☆!!! Watermelon alone is why I want to continue with them, but ALL THE FLAVORS ARE VERY MUCH LIKE EATING A BITE OF THE FRUIT.
I am 50, I agree these need ice!! Way better to be ice cold to cut the sweetness, adding a bit more plain sparkling water if you want, because these are bursting in flavor.

I am sad that Costco won’t carry in warehouse longer. I find lots of good finds, only to never see them again. Good news is, they can be purchased online from Costco, Bring these back to the warehouse Please!!
