Chicken nuggets are popular and convenient comfort food for children and adults. Costco carries a few frozen breaded chicken products but it’s hard to beat the taste and texture of deep-fried restaurant chicken nuggets. Are these Costco Hampton House Chicken Nuggets worth picking up during your next Costco trip?
Chicken nuggets/strips are something I used to eat a ton of. I always ordered them as a kid at whatever restaurant we went to. As an adult, I used to treat myself to them after evening shifts at the hospital as a late-night snack so I don’t mind trying and reviewing these Costco Hampton House Chicken Nuggets!
Other chicken products from Costco I’ve reviewed are the Costco Kirkland Signature Seasoned Chicken Wings, Costco Pinty’s Crispy Chicken Wings, Costco Hampton House Popcorn Chicken, Costco Pinty’s Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strips, Costco Fresh Additions Fully Cooked Chicken Breast Bites, Costco Pinty’s Buffalo Chicken Flings and the Costco Hampton House Chicken Strips.
Location in Store
The chicken nuggets are in the freezer aisle near the other frozen appetizers and breaded chicken products. The item number is 4384839.
Taste
The nuggets are decently crisp considering they were baked in the oven. I think they’d be even better if they were cooked in the air fryer. I notice that the batter coating is crumbly and not smooth like the batter on a McDonald’s chicken nugget.
The meat is good-quality white chicken. I ate quite a few nuggets and didn’t find any fatty or gristly bits!
The nuggets themself don’t have a lot of flavor, but it’s a typical chicken nugget flavor. Dipping sauces always make chicken nuggets better so I recommend picking up some plum sauce for these.
Cost
The three-killigram bag of nuggets costs $22.99 Canadian, which isn’t bad for such a large bag!
Convenience
The nuggets need to be kept frozen and come in a convenient resealable bag. As I mentioned before, I think nuggets like these turn out best when cooked in the air fryer, but my oven did the trick and got them decently crispy! I don’t think the microwave method would make crispy nuggets so I don’t recommend it unless you’re really in need of a quick meal without effort or time.
The nuggets are already fully cooked which means you’re basically reheating them.
Kids and adults love these as a snack, appetizer, lunch or even dinner. I highly recommend picking up some dipping sauce because without any sauce they’re a bit dry and flavorless.
Nutrition
Calories
Four nuggets is 190 calories, eight grams of fat, 19 grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, one gram of sugar, nine grams of protein and 440 milligrams of sodium.
I wish there were a little more protein! I’m honestly surprised there are only nine grams considering these are made of chicken. The sodium is decently high as well as the amount of fat. I can’t say I think these are healthy.
Ingredients
The ingredients list is pretty typical for a store-bought frozen chicken nugget. I don’t love seeing soy protein listed as a second ingredient. Why can’t there just be chicken? These are not gluten-free and also may contain milk or egg.

Overall
Give it a try!
I like these chicken nuggets enough to finish the bag but they’re not as good as the ones from a fast food restaurant (like Mcdonald’s). They’re very good for a store-bought chicken nugget.
Have you had these? What did you think of them?

Very good for a store-bought chicken nugget.
I tried these for the first time with my family today and seemed to have something almost stuck in my teeth. Turns out its the smaller base part of a feather. I was no impressed. They are not overly good either!
Personally, I’m not crazy about anything with soy protein in it! Nor am I crazy about anything with very thick bread it coatings because that’s very unhealthy! Also it means there’s almost no chicken in it whatsoever! The addition of soy protein to such things as chicken nuggets usually means everything is all ground up and shaped into a fake nugget and then coded with a ton of batter! I’ve read other highly negative reviews on these chicken nuggets and I think I shall be passing on them completely! Myself, I don’t care for any form of chicken or any other meat product, that has been ground up and shaped into pre-shaped nuggets and then coded with tons of breading! In my opinion, this is a way to make very cheap unhealthy processed food! And everyone knows that highly processed foods are extremely unhealthy! The more processing the more unhealthy it is! I’ll take the real chicken fingers that are lightly breaded in cornmeal that I always buy from Costco‘s any day, over these! At least those, I know are solid pieces of white chicken breast or chicken finger meat, with a very thin coating of batter over them! Put a little barbeque sauce a little plum sauce a little miracle whip on them, and they are fantastic! Plus they’re not all bad or they’re like 95% meat solid white chicken fingers or chicken breast meat! Mmmmmmmmm!
I gave this a try long ago. They’re awful. We found them really dry and the mostly thick bread crumb coating with cornmeal taste is overpowering. Don’t waste your money. Not recommended.
