Costco’s cheapest frozen hamburger patties are still pretty good!
I’m reviewing the Costco Kirkland Signature Uncooked Lean Ground Beef Patties today. We picked these up over the summer to barbecue and I hadn’t posted the review yet!
Costco also carries The Keg Prime Rib Beef Burgers and the Kirkland Signature Lean Sirloin Beef Burgers. If you’re someone who doesn’t like beef Costco also carries the Trident Wild Pacific Pink Salmon Burgers and the Beyond Meat Beyond Burgers.
Location in Store
You can find the Kirkland Signature Lean Ground Beef Patties in the freezer aisle near all the other burgers. The item number is 50846.
Taste
I prefer the taste of the Kirkland Signature Sirloin Burgers but I don’t mind these cheaper Costco lean ground beef patties! I did a taste comparison of the two by barbecuing a lean ground beef pattie and a lean sirloin beef burger.
The lean ground beef patties from Costco have a bit more of a stronger fattier flavor in comparison. The sirloin burgers have much less flavor despite both being seasoned the sam e way. The texture of the lean ground beef patties is a bit grainy and I noticed some bits of gristle in the burgers.
The size of the burgers is also smaller compared to the Kirkland Signature Lean Sirloin Beef Burgers. The overall flavor reminds me of burgers you’d get at a cheap burger stand or mass community barbecue.
Cost
The cost of the lean ground beef burger patties from Costco is $24.99 Canadian. There’s 24 individual 1/4 lb patties in the bag.
Convenience
These Costco burgers barbecue easily, you could also pan-fry them. Be sure to check that the internal temperature has reached 165 degrees fahrenheit or 74 degrees celsius to ensure they’re cooked thoroughly.
The lean ground beef patties need to be kept in the freezer and the best before date is about eight months from the date we purchased them.
The burgers are not seasoned so you do have to season each pattie. Which isn’t a big deal and I like being able to control what I put on my burgers! I would buy these if I were hosting a larger barbecue, summer birthday party, for camping or to bring to the lake.
Nutrition
Calories
One burger is 210 calories, 15 grams of fat, two grams of carbohydrates, 17 grams of protein and 55 mg of sodium. This isn’t that many calories as some beef burgers!
Ingredients
The ingredients list is simple and short. Just one ingredient, beef. They don’t add any other ingredients or seasoning to the burgers which I appreciate. I can control my own seasoning and amount of sodium that way.

Overall
Give it a try!
These aren’t as good as The Keg Burgers or Lean Sirloin Burgers but they’re still pretty good and are reasonably priced!
Have you tried these burgers from Costco? What do you think of them?

Why are there 2 carbs in these patties if these are 100% beef? Beef doesn’t have carbs???
My thought exactly. There must be some other ingredient that is not listed because meat has zero carbohydrate.
I purchased these because I was given a propane bbq, which I have never had before, so I wanted something easy while I got the hang of it. My family and I all thought they were pretty tasty done on the new to us bbq with Keg steak spice, on the La Fournee Doree brioche burgers, with sliced jarlsberg cheese and pickles. Oh, and pickle salad. Hey, we got everything for this meal at Costco!
They do cost $29.99 now.
I think these are as good as an old bar burger.
Best burger I have had in a long time. Easy to make and the taste is great.
The very low sodium content makes the Kirkland Signature burgers (various types) particularly appealing. And people who want more salt can always add it.
Exactly! We season ours to individual preference (I like just a little seasoning) my husband likes seasoning plus a ton of BBQ sauce.
