One of the best packaged, on-the-go, pantry snacks for kids at Costco!
Today I’m reviewing the Costco Welch’s Fruit Snacks. It’s back to school time so I wanted to do reviews for the best packaged, on-the-go, pantry snacks for kids at Costco.
If you’re someone who enjoys fruit snacks but you’re watching your sugar intake you may enjoy my reviews for the Smart Sweets Peach Rings or Sweet Fish from Costco. If your kids don’t like fruit snacks another few items I love for kids are the MadeGood Granola Minis the Gogo Squeez from Costco and the Kirkland Signature Apple Snacks.
You can find the Welch’s Fruit Snacks in the snack section at Costco, near the front of the store, the item number is 1704012.
Taste
The Costco Welch’s Fruit Snacks are tasty! There are five different flavors, strawberry, peach, orange, grape and raspberry. Just because there are five flavors does not guarantee you’ll get some of each flavor in every pack, it took me opening three packs until I found a grape fruit snack.
The strawberry is very sweet with a bit of an artificial tasting strawberry flavor, grape is less sweet than strawberry and has a delicious grape flavor, the orange is very sweet like the strawberry and has a strong citrus/orange flavor, raspberry is also a bit artificial tasting but the flavor is nice, the raspberry is a similar sweetness to the grape. Peach is less sweet like the raspberry and grape flavor and has a delicious peachiness.
All of the fruit snacks are moist, chewy, flavorful and fresh tasting.
Cost
I paid $11.99 Canadian for the box of 60 pouches, that’s a lot, each pouch is quite small though!
Convenience
Each pack has about eleven fruit snacks in it. The best before date is about ten months from the date I purchased the fruit snacks.
These make a sweet treat for kids to enjoy at recess, during lunch or during extracurricular activities! They’re also great for runners who are doing long distance runs and need a pick-me-up.
Nutrition
One pouch is 70 calories, zero grams of fat, 17 grams of carbohydrates, 10 grams of sugar and one gram of protein.
The first ingredient is fruit puree followed by corn syrup and sugar. Despite these having no artificial flavors and made with real fruit they do have added sugar, I’m not loving the additional corn syrup and sugar. The Welch’s Fruit Snacks are gluten-free as well as peanut free and don’t have any added preservatives.

Overall
Give it a try!
I think kids would really love these as a treat in their lunch or at snack time! As someone who used to run I also recommend them for marathon training and long runs!
Have you tried these? What did you think?
