I love making different stir-fries at home. I recently found the Dr. Foo’s Kitchen Thai Peanut Coconut Sauce at Costco and it seemed like a really versatile sauce to use with Asian-style dishes like stir-fries, so I decided to share it with you! The bottle says Dr. Foo is a real person who’s been cooking for 40 years – it even has a cute little picture of her on the label! I love seeing things like that on products; it gives them character. The sauce can be found in the sauce aisle at Costco (the unrefrigerated one).
Taste
The Dr. Foo’s Kitchen Thai Peanut Coconut Sauce is a delicious and moderately spicy coconut peanut curry sauce. Upon first taste, you get a perfectly-balanced blast of peanut and coconut followed by strong notes of red curry. The sauce is very creamy and smooth and melts into cooked noodles or chicken. The bottle suggests using the sauce in many different ways, and I agree after having tasted it. I can see using it on salads, in stir-fries, as a marinade for chicken or pork or as a dip for vegetables or grilled meat skewers. The sauce definitely has a bit of heat to it, but I’m pretty heat-sensitive and I didn’t find the spice was enough to turn me off. It actually accentuated the flavors.
Cost
The bottle is quite large – 896 milliliters. The regular price at Costco is $9.49 Canadian. This might seem a little bit expensive, but I think this is a pretty high-quality sauce.
Convenience
As discussed above, the Dr. Foo’s Kitchen Thai Peanut Coconut Sauce is versatile and could be used to make a number of different dishes. For that reason, I’d say it’s a convenient item to have in your kitchen. Some ambitious people prefer to make their own sauces, but I personally don’t have time for that! One thing to be aware of with this sauce is that once you open the bottle, it needs to be refrigerated.
Nutrition
One tablespoon contains 35 calories, two grams of fat, three grams of sugar, one gram of protein and 65 milligrams of sodium. When you compare those numbers to other sauces and salad dressings, this one actually has less fat and sugar than many other options. That surprised me a bit, since it’s so tasty. I also have to say that I really appreciate how all of the ingredients are ones that I recognize and can understand being used in the sauce.
If you’re looking for a new flavorful stir-fry sauce, marinade or salad dressing and aren’t too sensitive to spice, check out the Dr. Foo’s Kitchen Thai Peanut Coconut Sauce at Costco!

Do you have any awesome recipes that you could use this sauce for?
I reached out to the manufacturer Fischer and Weiser in Texas and asked if it would be available as I did not see it on their website they said. It was a special product that Costco had requested so not unless they request it again. They are on social media or you can Google them also everyone let your Costco know you’d like to have that product back
I bought my bottle earlier this year – maybe May or June 2023 here in the SF Bay Area and now we want MORE!! It is awesome. Good ingredients (no canola oil! … that is a thing we like to avoid and the ingredients in this sauce are excellent in our opinion.) I am now trying to track down more but from the reviews here I am guessing this is one of the items COSTCO rotates in and out of stock. So hoping it wont be too too long before it returns again. OR … maybe they could just start stocking it? At least at some stores?(Merch does vary store to store even within a region … stores in SF Bay area often sell foods aligned to specific ethnic groups in a store’s area.)
I just checked with my local Costco here in Portland, OR. I was told that Dr Foo’s Thai Kitchen Peanut Coconut sauce is not on the shelf or on order in their computer. I did a search in my computer and could not find it anywhere……… it just does not come up, as if it never existed. Any suggestions?
I got a bottle last month at the Salem Costco
Jamie, that’s the issue I have with Costco. You get hooked on something then they discontinue it, i.e. Classico spaghetti sauce, Polish dill pickles, Bisquick, butter chicken spice mix, etc. Anyway, found this sauce at Costco when we stopped in Roseville for gas and food for the weekend on our way up to Tahoe, CA. Because of my experience with Costco discontinuing items and the fact I hadn’t seen this sauce where I live I bought what was left on the shelf. I’ve never ordered any food items online from Costco so not sure about this but have you tried to see if they have it online? Good luck!
This is an amazing sauce. I bought it on a whim and now I want more. My costco does not carry it anymore. Where can I find it?
You can go to the front of your store where the computer is and ask them to search for what stores around you have it in stock. Sometimes it will be out of stock temporarily and they will be able to tell you that info too
