The Costco pre-made meal section regularly features delicious, Mexican-inspired dishes like the chicken tacos, enchilada bake and the chicken quesadillas. Their latest addition is the Kirkland Signature Ground Beef Quesadillas. While beef quesadillas are simple to make, these ready-to-heat options provide a convenient and satisfying meal when you’re low on time or energy.
Location in Store
These quesadillas can be found in the pre-made meal section / deli at Costco. Near the Kirkland Signature Chicken Tacos and Kirkland Signature Meat Lasagna. The item number is 71116.
Taste
The first thing I noticed about these quesadillas is that they’re extremely greasy. The grease is likely mainly coming from the ground beef as well as partially from the cheese. The quesadillas are absolutely loaded with ground beef which makes them a bit hard to eat and not get as crispy as I’d like.
It’s hard to get the quesadillas crispy in the pan due to grease and how much filling is in the wraps, I find the quesadillas just a bit soggy. The ground beef isn’t very spicy at all, it has maybe a slight hint of heat. They’re decently tasty, not amazing but not bad.
I noticed a few hard pieces in the ground beef willing which I find is pretty common in ground beef. The quesadillas on their own aren’t extremely flavorful but the dips that come in the meal kit add a lot of additional flavor. I love the guacamole. Although the ingredients list has cheese as the second ingredient you don’t really taste much cheese.
Cost
In the meal kit you get four large quesadillas as well as a container of guacamole, sour cream and salsa. The cost of each quesadilla meal varies at Costco because it’s based on the weight of the tray. I paid $24.72 for my ground beef quesadilla meal.
Convenience
These are a bit difficult to eat and messy, they fall apart as you eat them due to there being so much ground beef! The quesadillas are easy enough to pan fry to get them browned and try to get them crispy. The cooking directions suggest heating the quesadillas in the pan for five to seven minutes per side.
I really appreciate that the meal comes with all the dips you’d need, that makes it really convenient. The quesadillas need to be kept refrigerated and the best before date is four days from when they were packaged. I offered the quesadillas to my toddler but she found them pretty hard to eat, all the filling kept falling out.

The ingredients list is actually pretty simple with whole ingredients and not really any chemicals or artificial flavors. It has everything you’d expect to see in a ground beef quesadilla. Overall
Give it a try!
These beef quesadillas are definitely convenient and tasty enough. I don’t love the amount of grease or sodium but can I really complain that they loaded the tortillas with filling?
