I’ve tried several varieties of almonds from Costco over the years, like the Kirkland Signature Chocolate Covered Almonds and the Roasted Garlic and Herb Almonds. I even ventured into more adventurous flavors like Sriracha and spicy dill pickle almonds. So, I was curious to find out how these Kirkland Signature Chocolate Almond Crème Coated Almonds would be different.
Location in Store
You can find these chocolate almond creme coated almonds in the snack section of Costco, near the front of the store. The item number is 1511791.
Taste
Honestly I think I would have mistaken these almond creme almonds for regular chocolate-covered almonds in a blind taste test. Even though the almonds have a thick layer of almond crème under a thinner layer of chocolate, it just tasted like chocolate to me.
These are very good chocolate almonds though. The thick layer of almond crème makes them softer than some chocolate-covered almonds they have, which I like. Personally, I eat chocolate-covered almonds for the chocolate, not the almonds! The chocolate and almond crème combined tastes like a sweeter milk chocolate, which is also a positive in my opinion.
Cost
The 907-gram bag costs $14.99 Canadian which really isn’t bad considering it’s a pretty big bag of coated almonds and almonds on their own aren’t cheap.
Convenience
The best before date is about 11 months from when I purchased them, and the bag reseals which helps keep the almonds fresh. These are the perfect late afternoon snack or dessert to have with a cup of tea or coffee.
You could potentially use these in baking cookies or as a cake decoration. I wouldn’t recommend allowing young children to have these due to them being a choking hazard.
Nutrition
Calories
10 almonds contain 210 calories, 24 grams of fat, 20 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 17 grams of sugar, four grams of protein and 60 milligrams of sodium. The high fat content and calories are coming from the almonds being naturally high in fat and calories and then being coated in chocolate!
Ingredients
I don’t love that the almond flavored coating is made of palm oil but it’s a pretty common ingredient in candy/sweets like this. These contain almonds, milk and soy but are gluten-free.

Overall
Give it a try!
Chocolate-covered almonds aren’t my favorite treat, but these ones are very good.
