Costco Chipotle Bitchin’ Sauce Review

I felt like I hit the jackpot when I found this Chipotle Bitchin’ Sauce at Costco. It’s gluten-free, dairy-free, organic, vegan, non-GMO and made with healthy almonds! What more could you want? I’ve also seen people online talking about the sauce, claiming they’re simply obsessed. I had to find out for myself if this sauce is really all that Bitchin’.

Location in Store

We bought this in Kona, Hawaii to have with tortilla chips around the pool. It can be found in the refrigerated deli section at Costco and the item number is 1238273.

Taste

I know so many people rave about this sauce so I thought I’d like it but I really don’t. It has a very strong, smokey chipotle flavor with moderate to high amount of heat. There’s also a slight tanginess to it. It’s way too spicy for me to be honest and the flavor I taste is mainly just the spices.

There’s a lot of heat in this sauce!

The texture is also kind of grainy and not smooth, which is fine, I don’t mind that part. The Good Foods Plant Based Queso Style Dip also has a bit of a grainy texture.

The texture is thick and a bit grainy.

If you like heat and chipotle, you might really like this sauce. It’s kind of overpowering though. A little goes a long way!

Cost

The 680 gram container costs $9.99 USD which after trying this I would say is not worth the cost! However, it is made with almonds so that will automatically make it more expensive.

Convenience

The best-before date is about three months from when we purchased it. I wouldn’t keep an open container of it for longer than a week or at max 10 days. I’m cautious about food safety!

There are so many ways to use this sauce!

There are ideas on how to use the Bitchin’ Sauce on the company’s website. Some ideas are to use it in eggs, sandwiches, sliders, tacos, pasta salads and lettuce boats!

Ingredients

One of the reasons why this dip is so popular is because it’s gluten-free and dairy-free so anyone following a plant-based diet can enjoy it! The ingredients list is all organic ingredients without any real unhealthy ingredients other than oil and soy which some people might see as undesirable.

The major allergens the sauce contains are almonds and soy.

Overall

Give it a try.

If you’re vegan or love spicy sauces, you might want to try this Bitchin’ Sauce.

You should probably avoid it if you’re on the fence about it. I couldn’t handle the heat in it. Four adults in my family tried it together; nobody liked it or wanted more than one bite. I think that says something.

Have you tried this Bitchin’ Sauce from Costco? What did you think of it?
