We’ve tried some other ribs from Costco before like the Kirkland Signature Seasoned Pork Back Ribs, 44th Street Slow Cooked Pork Back Ribs, Montana’s Texas Style BBQ Pork Back Ribs and the Hampton House Dry Garlic Ribs.

Location in Store

We bought these from Costco’s refrigerated pre-made meal section in Kona, Hawaii. The item number is 45510.

There’s lots of meat on the ribs.

Taste

The ribs are quite fatty but there’s still lots of good meat on the bones and they’re not as fatty as some ribs. The meat is very tender and easily falls off the bone, the texture is soft and not very chewy or tough.

The meat is soft and tender.

The St.Louis seasoning is really flavorful, salty and just the tiniest bit of smoky. There isn’t a strong barbecue flavor on the ribs, you mainly taste salt. The barbecue sauce is a fairly thin, sweet barbecue sauce that goes well with the ribs. The barbecue sauce also has a decent amount of heat but isn’t super spicy.

Cost

The ribs costs $6.49 per pound and my particular tray of ribs cost $18.76 USD. There are a lot of ribs in the tray so I think the cost is pretty reasonable!

Convenience

The cooking instructions seem wrong because I cooked the ribs for 25 minutes at 350 degrees fahrenheit, then turned up the oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit and left them for another 15 minutes. After that they were only at 130 degrees, so not nearly hot enough. The ribs are already cooked so you’re really just heating them up though.

The ribs need to be kept refrigerated and the best-before date is two days from when we purchased them. You could probably freeze them if you weren’t going to eat them right away but they may be a little dry and not as good.

We served our ribs with fries and a salad but they’d also be great with corn, mashed potatoes, baked beans or potato salad!

Ingredients

The seasoning on the ribs only contains a few ingredients and is gluten-free. The barbecue sauce is where the unhealthy ingredients are like sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup. The sauce is also what contains soy.

The ribs may contain peanuts, egg, treenuts, milk, fish, shellfish, crustaceans and sesame due to being produced in a facility that also makes food with these ingredients.

Overall

Give it a try!

These ribs are nice and meaty! The seasoning isn’t anything spectacular but overall they’re pretty good if you like ribs.

  1. I don’t know if these are the same ribs. Costco used to sell where they sold the hot roast chickens? I used to buy the ribs that they sold there once in a while, and box all by the cold ones that were a few hours old that they put out for clearance as they change the ribs and chickens every few hours! I don’t believe they sell the ribs anymore at all, though at my Costco in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, haven’t seen them in a year or two! But if I can find these, I will definitely give them a try. They look great and they sound very tasty!

Also, I just wanted to mention that I bought an instant pot from Costco a 6 quart nova duo. I think it’s called! I’ve made ribs in this thing five times and instant pots are absolutely fantastic for making fall off the bone ribs! It takes just over an hour to make a batch of fall off the bone ribs! it is amazing how quickly an instant pot can cook ribs, and to the state of perfection that you can make them using one of these! If a person wanted to have the Smokey barbeque flavor, all you’d have to do is take them out of the instant pot after the hour and put them on the barbeque for a few minutes on both sides, maybe put a little more sauce if you need it, and then dig in!

So far, I have only used my instant pot for a few things! It makes fantastic ribs, and excellent chili! And it makes both of these things very quickly. That’s why they call it an instant pot! If you go on YouTube and look up videos on how to make ribs in your instant pot there are dozens of video showing and explaining how to do this to make fall off the bone ribs, I’m going to experiment with my instant pot as time goes by and I love the instant pot. It’s an amazing device. It’s one of the best appliances to come out in years! If you don’t have one! There are cookbooks written on how to cook many different things in this type of a device and there are literally thousands of videos, regarding recipes to cook in the instant pot! Also, I would recommend buying the original brand instant pot, not one of the cheap knock offs that are trying to copycat it! As excellent as the George Foreman grill! Did you know that George Foreman, made more marketing the George Foreman grill for Sultan appliances then he made as a boxer and his entire career he made over $100 million being the spokesman for the George Foreman grill!

Again, Natalie, thank you very much for an excellent product review regarding these ribs, I will definitely give them a try if I can find them in my local Costco

You and your family have a great summer!
