Costco has a lot of great dips, but sometimes the classics are the best – like this Good Foods Chunky Traditional Guacamole. The best guacamoles I’ve had are ones that are prepared fresh from great avocados, but it can be hard to find great avocados in my home city at times, plus I don’t always have time to spend on making guacamole from scratch. Is this pre-made guacamole good enough that you won’t wish you’d just made your own?
Some other dips from Costco are the Kirkland Signature Organic Hummus, La Terra Fina Spinach, Artichoke & Parmesan Dip, Stonemill Kitchens Creamy Cranberry Jalapeno Dip, Rojo’s Street Corn Dip, Kewpie Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing & Marinade, Good Foods Plant Based Queso Style Dip, Fontaine Sante Spinach Dip and the La Terra Fina Queso Dip with Cheddar.
Location in Store
This guacamole is located in the refrigerated deli section, near all the other dips like hummus. The item number is 676857.
Taste
I love this guacamole and have finished up all my three containers as I write this! My latest addiction is this guac paired with the Kirkland Signature Corn Chip Dippers. There are chunks of avocado, tomato and onion throughout the dip which I like. I find that chunkiness makes it taste a little more homemade and adds a little bit of needed texture.
This guacamole is definitely on the saltier side but not too salty for my tastebuds. One thing I appreciate about the dip is that it doesn’t have an overpowering garlic flavor. Also there’s no spice or heat, it’s very mild.
Cost
The pack costs $13.99 Canadian and contains three 10-ounce containers of guacamole. Each container is a decent size so the price isn’t all that high in my opinion.
Convenience
Guacamole pairs well with so many things! I love it as a dip with chips, crackers or vegetables. I use it on tacos, rice cakes, fajitas, in salad, with eggs, on sandwiches and burgers.
The guacamole needs to be kept refrigerated and the best-before date is about a month and a half from when I purchased it. The thing I have to complain about is how the containers don’t have any lids so there’s no way to reseal the guacamole. There’s just a plastic film top so once that’s pulled off that’s it.
Guacamole doesn’t keep well once opened so I wouldn’t keep this in my fridge long anyways but it would be nice to be able to keep it for a day or two.
Nutrition
Calories
Two tablespoons of guacamole contains 35 calories, three grams of fat, three grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, zero grams of sugar, one gram of protein and 135 milligrams of sodium.
That’s less calories, fat and sodium than I was expecting so I’m pleasantly surprised! I can eat quite a bit of this and feel okay about it.
Ingredients
I absolutely love and appreciate the simple, whole ingredients in the guacamole. There isn’t any palm or canola oil and these are the same ingredients I’d use at home to make guacamole.
Guacamole is gluten-free, vegan-friendly, low in carbs and dairy-free!

Overall
Give it a try!
I love this guacamole. My only complaint about it is how the containers don’t have lids so you can’t reseal the guacamole after opening it.
Have you tried the Costco Good Foods Chunky Guacamole? What did you think of it?

Put it a glass container with snap tight cover. Vola!
That’s a smart idea!
Yes, this is a fine guacamole. I like it and think it is a good buy. At home, I usually take the easy way out and settle for a half avocado garnished with Spanish EVOO, perhaps a dash of Modena vinegar, diced red and green peppers with onions and garlic granules and —Voilà!— a heavenly yummy delight. Not official Mexican guacamole but, hey, delicious as «aguacates» can be.
I have tried this as well and love it. The chunkiness and taste is superb and the ingredients are “clean “ which I like. My only complaint is the lack of lid but what I use is the Press &Seal cling wrap and that keeps it fresh for a couple of days without it turning brown.
Thank you for all your work and efforts on your site!! You do a fantastic job. Please keep up the interesting and useful posts!
Thanks for your kind comment Walter!
I recently tried this guacamole and agree with you. It’s very tasty and I also like the simple, healthy ingredients. I also wish the lids were better but I can live with it.
