If you’re like me, ice cream is every bit as appealing during the winter as it is during the summer. I don’t care how cold it is – I’ll never say no to ice cream. For ice cream lovers like me, these limited edition Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark Ice Cream Bars seem like an awesome holiday-themed treat. Does it taste as Christmasy as it sounds?
Other frozen dessert products from Costco are the Kirkland Signature Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream, Helados Mexico Ice Cream Bars, Kirkland Signature Vanilla Almond Ice Cream Bars, Christie Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches, Keto Skream Frozen Dessert Bars, Enlightened Keto Ice Cream Bars, Shaomei Brown Sugar Boba Bars, Yasso Greek Yogurt Bars and the Nestle KiKat Ice Cream Bars.
Location in Store
I bought these in the freezer section at Costco in Montana, near all the other frozen treats. The item number is 1188546.
Taste
I think the white chocolate ice cream is the same as what’s in the white chocolate raspberry truffle ice cream.
The dark chocolate coating with peppermint candy pieces is really good. It’s a relatively sweet dark chocolate (though maybe that’s partly because of the peppermint candy pieces).
The white chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate and peppermint work really well together. If you’re looking for a candy cane ice cream bar though, this isn’t it. The peppermint is fairly understated. It’s more like a regular chocolate-covered ice cream bar with a hint of peppermint candy.
There’s enough peppermint candy that it’s consistently noticeable but not much more than that. The fact that the bars are filled with white chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla also gives them a unique flavor.
Cost
The box containing 15 bars costs $13.89 USD which definitely isn’t cheap. It’s not bad for a box of premium-quality ice cream bars. One Häagen-Dazs bar alone would be $2 to $4 dollars at a convenience store.
Convenience
Each bar is individually wrapped so they can be easily stored in the freezer without the box if you’re short on space. The best-before date on the box is a year and four months from the date I purchased them.
Kids and adults will both enjoy these as a cool treat during the holiday season! They’re perfect for a family that loves ice cream or doesn’t want a heavy dessert like cake or pie.
Nutrition
Calories
If you must know, one bar contains 270 calories, 17 grams of fat, 25 milligrams of sodium, 26 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fiber, 24 grams of sugar and three grams of protein. I expected these to be high in calories, fat and sugar and they are.
Ingredients
I like that Häagen-Dazs ice cream generally has a short list of ingredients without a ton of chemicals or additives. While the ice cream in these bars has just a few ingredients, this isn’t the case for the dark chocolate and the peppermint candy in the bars.
The ingredients I’m disappointed to see are vegetable oil, corn syrup and soybean oil. These bars are gluten-free and contain milk, egg and soy. They may have almonds due to being processed on equipment that also processes almonds.

Overall
Must buy!
I think these are only out for the holiday season at Costco, I highly recommend picking up a box while you can to try. They’re not too minty, which I like.

These bars are awful. Too much peppermint to the point of being acrid. They probably can’t sell these in other stores so Costco buys them and sells them to gullible shoppers that think they’re getting a deal.
